The Iyaloja General of Ikorodu Division, Deaconess Busola Isikalu (Busiq), has appealed to youths in Ikorodu Division, not to participate in the planned rally starting from August 1 to 10.
She enjoined the youths to embrace dialogue with the government instead of going on the streets which, according to her, can be hijacked by hoodlums.
Deaconess Isikalu made the appeal in a conversation with THE IMPACT on the phone.
“We are appealing to our youths and childen not to allow themselves to be used by people with an agenda. This is not the time to embark on protest, but time to embrace dialogue with the government”, she said.
“We are appealing to the youths to embrace dialogue as the government is ready to listen.
“Let us embrace peaceful dialogue instead of partaking in activity that may be hijacked by people with ulterior motive”.
She also appealed to parents to cautioned their children, especially in Ikorodu, against joining those that are planning to use protest to disrupt the peace and harmony of the country.
” Although, we have been meeting with our parents in Ikorodu, but we are using this medium to further appeal to our parents to caution their children against joining the protest.
“We want our people to sustain the peace in Ikorodu, Lagos and Nigeria at large.
“We don’t want any disruption, but peaceful co – existence that will bring economic, social and political developments in the country.
“We are appealing to them to embrace dialogue that government is offering. It is through dialogue that we can move forward, and not violence.
“We are begging them to allow reason prevail”, Deaconess Isikalu appealed.
