The Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) has announced its plan to revamp libraries in senior secondary schools in Ikorodu.
Through the initiative, the socio – cultural and developmental body will be providing necessary infrastructures and also stock the libraries with books.
In executing the plans, the IKODASS Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, in a statement today, announced that the organization has commenced the revitalisation of the Ikorodu Library along the T.O.S. Benson Road, Ikorodu.
“IKODASS is excited to announce the commencement of a major initiative to revamp libraries in our secondary schools.
“As part of this project, we will be providing necessary infrastructure and stocking them with books. Our goal is to create enriched learning environments for our students.
“In addition to the school libraries, we have also begun the process of revitalizing the community library located on Tos Benson Road, which has been inactive for several years. This effort is a significant part of our book drive campaign.
“We believe that these improvements will greatly benefit our community by fostering a love for reading and learning among our young people.
“Thank you for your support”, he said.
Meanwhile, the organization has called on the members of the public to support the revamping of libraries by donating books which, according to IKODASS, must be gently used and undamaged.
Donors are expected to drop the books at the IKODASS office at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu.
Types of books expected are: fiction, non fiction, academic, business, technology, children and referencing books.
