KOLUJO Movement Holds Strategic Interactive Session With Ward Structures

Former Councillors and Supervisors in Ikorodu LG endorsing Comrade Japheth Odesanya, the symbol of the KOLUJO Movement for the Chairmanship of Ikorodu LG at the strategic ward meeting in Ikorodu

The KOLUJO Movement, the political train championing the aspiration of Comrade Japheth Odesanya , during the week, continued its strategic meetings and consultations with political, traditional, professional groups and others, by interacting with its structures across the seven political Wards in Ikorodu Local Government.

The symbol of the movement at the parley was endorsed by Councilors, Supervisors and Special Advisers that served during the administration of late Alhaji Sheriff Anipole, former Chairman, Ikorodu LG, from 2011 to 2014.

The interactive meeting was held at the KOLUJO Secretariat, 84, Ireshe Road, Ikorodu, during the week and witnessed the convergence of the entire structures under the leadership of Hon. Hameed Owolabi, the Director – General, KOLUJO Movement.

According to the Director – General, KOLUJO Movement, Hon. Owolabi, speaking, said that the ward structures are to operate in cooperation with the already established Directorates of the movement.

Under the central KOLUJO Campaign structure at the meeting are Chief Adekoya Fatai Atoloye (Director of Traditional Affairs), Hon. Shola Bada, Director of Welfare, Hon. Osinowo, Director of Security, Alhaja Taiwo Fatuga, Woman Leader, Hon. Olasupo Oyenuga, Director for Religious Affairs and Barr. Kayode Alabi, Director of Media among others.

The movement’s Ward Directors are Alhaji Kazeem Ige Benson (Ward A), Madam Mojisola Ajenifuja (Ward B), Alhaji Olayinka (Ward C), Mr Azeez Odugbesi (Buggatti) (Ward D), Prince Ade Ajasa (Ward E), Mr Bola Mabunmi (Ward F) and Mr Olusola Olawore (Ward G).

There are also six KOLUJO officers from each of the seven Wards, constituted for effective execution of its campaign. In each ward are Director, Coordinator, Secretary, Women Leader, Youth Leader and Chief Mobiliser.

Comrade Japthet Odesanya, the KOLUJO symbol, rolled out some of his programmes for Ikorodu.

The aspirant, who went down the memory lane to trace the administration of the local government system, especially in Ikorodu, assured residents of better days ahead.

He gave residents message of hope and assurance that things will turn around for better.

The former SLG also urged Ikorodu residents and entire Nigerians, to continue to support the government of President Tinubu, in restructuring the country and resolve the socio – political and economic challenges.

KOLUJO Movement’s Director -General, Hon. Hameed Owolabi, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the meeting was part of the strategies put in place to make the aspiration of the movement resonate in every part of Ikorodu, and galvanise the party structure and residents towards the attainment of his aspiration.

He said that the endorsement of Japheth as the Chairman of Ikorodu LG by some of the former political office holders, is based on his previous records and integrity.

“Former political office holders that served with Comrade Japheth Odesanya, when he served as the Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government during the administration of late Hon. Sheriff Anipole as the Council Chairman, today, endorsed the aspiration of Japheth Odesanya as the next Chairman of Ikorodu LG”, the KOLUJO DG said.

“He was endorsed based on his antecedents, pedigree and integrity. This is why we are endorsing him and also appealing to the party leaders to look in the direction that we are heading.

“We had seven Councillors during our time and one of them is a member of the PDP. He is definitely not with us because he belong to another party. One is contesting and one other is not aligning with anybody, thus, we have two of them fully with us and they were on to endorsed Japheth for the Chairmanship position in Ikorodu Local Government come 2025.

“Although, one of them is out of the country, that is Hon. Brown Jaiyesimi, but he is pledging his support for us. On ground physically to endorse our symbol are the former Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Fasasi Abideen and the former Majority Leader, Hon. Leke Shokunbi”, he explained.

“Two other former Councilors are contesting and one of them is not aligning at the moment.

“On the part of the eight Supervisors and Special Advisers that served with late Alhaji Sheriff Anipole, one is out of the country, two are contesting in the next council elections, we are left with five and four were present to endorse KOLUJO symbol.

“The four that were physically present to endorse him were myself – Hammed Owolabi, the former Supervisor for Health; Hon. Olasunkanmi Osinowo, former Supervisor for IGR; Hon. Atoloye former Supervisor for Youths and Sports and Hon. Olusola Bada, former Supervisors for Agriculture”, he further said.

Meanwhile, the Chairmanship aspirant also succeeded in getting the blessings of a foremost Islamic scholar and religious leader, His Eminence, Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi, the Chief Imam, Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu, for his aspiration.

KOLUJO team had, on Thursday, visited Sheikh Oshoala, and sought his spiritual guidance and blessings.

At the meeting, which took place at the Chief Imam’s house in Itunmoja, a statement by the group said that Sheikh Oshoala welcomed the team warmly, and expressed confidence in Japheth’s confidence and his pedigree in community and political circles.

“The KOLUJO SYMBOL, Comrade Japheth Odesanya and his team received some spiritual outpourings in the form of blessings and motivation, from His Eminence, Fahdilat Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala, the Chief Imam, Oriwu Central Mosque, yesterday (Thursday).

“The noble spiritual father expressed his joy and appreciation in hosting the Kolujo team.
“I’m happy to receive you Japheth. You have always played significant role in the community development. Thank you for recognizing and visiting me in your political journey”, the statement quoted the revered Muslim leader.
