-HiTech will be back soon on Igbogbo/Igbe Laara Road – AMA
The construction giant, Arab Contractors, has resumed the construction work on Gberigbe/Agura Road which it abandoned some months back due to non release of funds by the Lagos State Government.
THE IMPACT had reported about two weeks ago that the government has remobilized the company and HiTech Limited, another company handling the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara road.
Our reporter, who visited the site on Wednesday, with Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, to confirm the resumption, saw the construction workers digging the ground with an excavator to continue the drainage close to Gbodu junction.
After inspecting the ongoing construction, the team left for the Arab Contractor’s yard along the Ijede road, to see the pre – casts work and also interface with the Site Manager.
Although, the Manager was not available at the yard, the Assistant Manager, Mr Ham who received the lawmaker and our reporter, assured that their equipment are being mobilized to continue the work fully.
He said that they will have everything on ground by next week.
He also said that the project would be completed in six months.
In a chat with Hon. AMA after the tour, he, once again, assured residents of Gberigbe, Agura, Imota and Ijede and other users of the road that the Lagos State Government is committed to the completion of the road.
He said that he will continue to monitor and ensure that the project is delivered as promised by the contractor for residents to have relief and improvement in their social and economic conditions.
“As a reporter, you can now confirm that the contractor handling the Gberigbe road is now back on the site to continue the road project following their mobilisation by the Lagos State Government.
“As I have said before now, the Lagos State Government is committed to the completion of this road and that of Igbogbo.
“The engineer did not just assure in your presence that they will be mobilising fully back to site by next week, but also that the project will be completed in six months”.
While assuring residents of Igbogbo and Igbe Laara that HiTech Construction will be back on the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road soon, AMA also pleaded for their patience and understanding.
He stated that he will continue to monitor the progress of the projects.
