Months after abandoning the ongoing construction of the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road, the Lagos State Government has mobilized the construction company handling the project, HiTech Construction Company, back to site.
THE IMPACT gathered that the company was mobilised earlier on Friday.
According to our sources which confirmed the mobilisation, the construction company is to resume work on the road which has dragged on for about eight years on Monday.
The construction work, which has been on and off since past years, resumed last year November which made residents alleged that it was for the purpose of the Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo’s crusade, an accusation which was denied by the Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW) and the Lagos State Government. However, shortly after the crusade, the construction company vacated the site again, resulting in social and economic challenges that residents and other road users encounter on daily basis.
Speaking with Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) on Friday, he also confirmed that the government has mobilised the contractor but he did not confirm the sum.
He said that the development marks the commitment of the Governor and himself as the representative of the people to the infrastructural development of the state.
He assured that the Lagos State Government is committed to completing the project so as to improve the socio – economic lives of the people in the area.
Hon. Aro thanked residents for their understanding and asked for continuous support.
