Two students of the Majidun Senior Secondary School – Ishola Damilola and Fashikun Ashiat, have sustained the excellence performance and the leading roles of the Education District II in the state.
The students emerged winners of the 2024 Lagos State Secondary School Taxtrybe Debate Championship with N250, 000 as prize.
The exceptional students advanced from the preliminary stage of the competition to semi finals and ultimately, the grand finale.
At the final, Damilola and Ashiat presented a meticulously researched debate argument, thereby, contributing to educating Lagosians on the need and avenues for tax payment and benefits.
While receiving the new champions, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Mrs Anike Adekanye, appreciated the Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for being an inspirational leader himself, and for the quantum and quality of his government’s contributions to the development of education in Lagos State at this time.”
She equally appreciated the Honourable Commissioner Basic Education, Mr Tolani Alli-Balogun, for elegantly holding the mandate of Mr Governor and giving all it takes to successfully implement the Education & Technology Strategic Developmental Pillar of the THEMES Plus Agenda of the Lagos State Government.
She praised the partnership of Lagos Internal Revenue Services and DKK Nigeria, for a premiere mind blowing, keenly contested debate competition.
She celebrated the hard work, ingenuity and devotion of the new champions, as well as their handlers for working assiduously to uphold the culture of success in the District.
The Education District II, under Mrs Adekanye, has added laurels from notable state and national competitions to its already loaded cabinet.
