After the successful hosting of the Igbogbo Day Celebration in the United States of America (USA), consecutively in 2023 and this year, sons and daughters of the ancient kingdom, in Canada, are set to follow suit.
The General Secretary, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Idris Adesina, revealed that the inauguration of the annual celebration in Canada, will hold this year, while also stating that plans are also underway to establish same thing in the United Kingdom.
Adesina disclosed this in a statement released today by the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, to appreciate stakeholders and others for the successful hosting of the celebration in the USA, last Saturday, with the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and Ambassador Nasir Titilope Andu-Balogun (N.T.A), Chairman, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, in attendance.
“Gratitude to one’s helper is endless.
“The above proverb aptly described our degree of gratitude to the under-listed for their contributions in all ramifications to the success of the 2nd IGBOGBO DAY, USA, held on Saturday 29th June, 2024: The Adeboruwa-in-Council, Igbogbo, Lagos State; The Chairman, Management and Staff of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area; Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA); Executive Members of Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Nigeria (2021-2024); all registered Clubs and Associations in Igbogbo Kingdom and entire Stakeholders”, he said.
“More importantly, our appreciation also goes to all members of Igbogbo Ambassadors, USA, for their thoughtful progressive decision to align with the vision of the incumbent Executive of Igbogbo Day Committee led by Ambassador Nasir Titilope Andu-Balogun (N.T.A) back home, in celebrating their mother land in diaspora in order to place her rightly on the world map.
“Undoubtedly, we are very proud of all our Ambassadors in the United States of America, for the initiative and watershed event.
“On this note, we want to salute the readiness of the Igbogbo Ambassadors in Canada to inaugurate the Canadian version of Igbogbo Day in Year 2024, while that of the United Kingdom is already at the formative stage”, he revealed.
