Over 300 traders across various markets in Ikorodu, have benefitted from the gesture of the Iyaloja General of Ikorodu Division, Deacon Busola Isikalu.
The lucky traders were presented with packages consisting of food items as support for the Ileya Festival. The presentation took place at her office at the Ikorodu Plaza.
Deaconess Isikalu said that the food items given to the traders were part of her ways of appreciating them for their support and trust in her.
“This is one of my ways of appreciating traders in Ikorodu, for their support and efforts, even though the tradition is that they are the ones that are supposed to give to the Iyaloja, but we want to change the narratives”, the Iyaloja General said.
“But we will accept it if you chose to give us anything.
“I thank you for standing by us and for believing in us that we can deliver on promises and give good leadership”, Deacon Isikalu.
She announced that an award is going to be presented to her later this month by a group which is also going to give trades lectures on promoting trade online.
“A group is coming from Abuja to present an award to me on the 26th of this month. They are also going to engage us with lecture on how to improve our trade online”, she said.
“This will be on how to use technology to improve ourselves and your age doesn’t matter, but your readiness to improve”.
THE IMPACT spoke with some market leaders that benefitted from the Iyaloja General’s gesture.
Mrs Nimota Afolabi, Iyaloja, Ita Elewa market, speaking, described the gesture as a great one.
“This is a great gesture from the Iyaloja General and we are appreciative of it She will continue to lead in good health, wealth and wisdom”.
Chief Bola Okanlawon, Baba Oja Elero General, also speaking, said:
“We are happy with what she is doing today. She has brought good leadership and encouraged individuals and markets that are not doing well to see reasons why they should be active”.
Madam Sherifat Adediran, from the Amuludun market, Owolowo, Ikorodu, also speaking, commended Iyaloja Isikalu and the Ayangbure of Ikorodu.
“Our Iyaloja General is doing very well and God will not leave her”, she said.
“She has established that she is a good leader and she will live long to guide traders.
“We also thank the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, for his support”.
