The Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikorodu Local Government branch, Comrade Idris Omotayo and his Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) counterpart, Comrade Folarin Adegboyega, have said that they tried their best in impacting on youths in their respective areas.

The outgoing Coordinators, who spoke with THE IMPACT at the distribution of the Ileya food packs to 8,500 residents in Lagos East Snatorial District by Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, also charged their successors to compliment their achievements and surpass them.

Coordinator of the NYCN, Ikorodu LG, Comrade Idris, said that he delivered on his mandate in impacting the youths and Ikorodu generally.

“So far, so good, I have impacted on the youths of Ikorodu. I have paid my dues, and now I am about to hand over, and looking at the people that are coming out to take over from me, I have been taking my time to watch and observe them”, he said.

“I am looking at the best among those that are coming out and the way I am seeing it, I can see those that can do more than we did and with our support, I believe that they will do well than what we have done so far for the community”, he added.

The immediate Coordinator, Imota NYCN Comrade Folarin Adegboyega , said that during his just concluded tenure a few days back, many youth empowerment and other initiatives were embarked upon.

He charged the new administration to focus on technology and youth involvement in technology among others.

“My expectation is basically for the new NYCN Imota LCDA to compliment the effort of my own administration and to do better, at least to build on the legacy we have left behind”, he said.

“My own administration has tried its best by introducing different programmes and different initiatives in the community for the youth development.

“I believe we are in the 21st century, and there are so many technological programs that they can bring on board just to make sure lmota LCDA is not left behind in the league of youth in the nation.

“Aside technology, areas that they should focus on is considering agricultural nature of our community; Imota LCDA is blessed with enough of land. We have a lot of land mass in Imota LCDA, so, as a result, agriculture is part of the areas that I will want to implore them that they should focus on.

“In addition, considering the state of our economy in the country, I believe that agricultural sector is a major area that if we take advantage of it, it will go a long way to help the demand of the people at large”, he said.
