Ikorodu City FC gained promotion after defeating Madiba FC 2 – 0 in the Southern Conference play – off match on Democracy Day (June 12).
“After a really turbulent season, our project and pride; Ikorodu City Football Club @ikoroducity, has now secured a spot in the top flight of our country’s soccer, the Nigerian Professional Football League”, Bolowotan said.
“This promotion came from the hardwork and resilience of our dedicated team, the reliable technical crew and an amazing backroom support of the management board which bolstered up the squad.
“The goal of Ikorodu City FC isn’t just to play and win games, but to be a movement promoting the ‘Can Do’ spirit of the Nigerian youths.
“This is not just a win for Ikorodu but a win for the entire state”, the former slSports DG said.
