Two students of Oriwu Junior Model College, Ikorodu, in Education District II, have emerged as the winners of the prestigious Lagos State Junior Secondary School Quiz Competition, organized by the Irene Onwuka Peace Foundation.
Masters Lemboye Abdulrahman and Miss Agbede Oyindamola, students of Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2 and 3, won the competition and received the star prize of one million naira and two laptops for their outstanding performance.
They also received one plot of land each around the Ibeju-Lekki, Epe axis, in recognition of their academic excellence. The landed awards were donated by the AK Model Homes and Properties, in appreciation of the students’ feat.
Mrs Anike Adekanye, the multiple award-winning and a game changing Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District ll, while celebrating the feat achieved by the school under her tutorship, said that the students’ feat is inspirational to all students in the District.
She lauded the Governor of Lagos State for his administration’s support and impact on education.
“We are incredibly proud of Lemboye Abdulrahman and Agbede Oyindamola for their exceptional performance in the competition. Their achievement is a true inspiration to all the students in Education District 2, and we are grateful to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and his government for giving our students this platform.
“This remarkable milestone testifies to the transformative impact of the T.H.E.M.E.S + Agenda of Mr Governor’s administration in using education to transform the lives of young individuals. As our students bask in the glory of their achievement, the entire Education District ll community celebrates the success and looks forward to the continued growth and development of education under the able leadership of Mr Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education”, Adekanye said.
She also appreciated the awesome donation and support by AK Model Homes and Properties, for their generous contribution.”
