Executives and members of the Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU) have been called for the sustenance of the legacy of the union’s founding fathers and that of the succeeding generations.
The charged was issued by a Director with the National Assembly and a community leader, Barr. Adeboye Dankuwo, at the grand finale of the Children Education Fund (C.H.E.F) Week Program, an annual week – long celebration of the union, held at the Adeboruwa Palace, Igbogbo recently.
The week – long celebration was themed: “An Endearing Legacy of Learning: Celebrating 20 Years More of Educational Excellence”.
The senior government official, who was represented by Engr. Gbenga Ogunlewe, a senior official with the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, in his address, laid emphasis on the legacy that the union has built since its foundation and urged all current members and upcoming ones to uphold it in different aspects, most especially in education.
He congratulated the union for the successful 2024 week and wished them many more celebrations.
The ISU President, Comrade Abdulsalam Tijani, while speaking on the theme of the celebration, highlighted the achievements of the students, teachers, and union members in Igbogbo.
He emphasized the importance of education in empowering future generations and transforming lives, and encouraged everyone to nurture the legacy of learning and build a brighter future together.
Comrade Abdusalam also commended the lecturer for his thought – provoking lecture, and enjoined members and guests to contribute to the fund raising aimed at ensuring the continuation of the program.
In his own remarks, Comrade Ojikutu Omobadewa Peace, Secretary, CHEF Week Committee, thanked all the sponsors of CHEF Week programs, and implored the students and members of the union to make good use of the opportunity giving to them during the week.
At the grand finale, awards and gift items were presented to schools that emerged winners and runners – up in deferent categories of competitions held during the week.

1st position – Community Junior Secondary School, Offin -Ile.

Senior Secondary School Category (English Debate)
1st Zumratul Islamiyyah Senior Secondary School, lgbogbo.
2nd position – Community Senior Secondary School, Baiyeku.
3rd position – Oreyo Senior Secondary School, lgbogbo.
Senior Secondary School Category(Yoruba Debate)
1st – Oreyo Senior Grammar School, lgbogbo.
The event also witnessed the performance of Gyration by all union members led by Comrade Saliu Aliu Akorede (Alubarika), as they entertained students and guests.
