It was a remarkable outing for the Iyaloja General of Lagos State and Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu – Ojo, as she paid an historic visit to lkorodu, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
She was accompanied on the visit by the Iyaloja General of Ikorodu Division, Deaconess Busola Isikalu and other market chieftains who all received her at Majidun in lkorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
On arrival in Ikorodu, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu – Ojo visited the Gbodu plank market where she intervened and was able to resolve the crises in the market. She had fruitful deliberation with the leadership of the market and other parties and discussed ways of resolving the issue.
At the market, there were disputes among the traders, CDA and some stakeholders. She further invited the parties to the secretariat of the association in Alausa for further discussions on the matter.
Thereafter, she paid courtesy call on the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision making body in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abiodun Ogunleye at his Solomade residence in lkorodu.
She equally visited the Ayangbure palace where she arrived with a large entourage late in the night, and had another round of discussions with His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu.
On arriving at the palace, hundreds of market leaders and members and other residents were on ground to welcome her and her entourage.
Deaconess Busola Isikalu, the Iyaloja General, Ikorodu Division, speaking with THE IMPACT late in the night on Wednesday, thanked the market supreme leader for her visit to Ikorodu, describing it as meaningful.
“I want to thank our mama and the Iyaloja General of Lagos State and Nigeria, for the visit. We thank her for her motherly roles and for doing everything to resolve the lingering problems in various markets in Ikorodu”, she said.
“She is a true leader and she is showing it by good examples. Her visitation to Ikorodu is really remarkable, meaningful and memorable. We wish that we could be having such often.
“She had fruitful discussions with parties involved in crisis at Igbodu market and she was able to proferred ways out of the problems. Our mama also had fruitful discussions with our highly revered Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom and our esteemed political leader and the former Lagos Deputy Governor, Sir (Prince) Abiodun Ogunleye”, she added
