The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TGPS) of the Lagos State Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, has urged benefitting schools of the multi-million – naira furniture and office equipment donated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to justify the gestures by making judicious use of them as well as protecting them.
Adekanye gave the advice recently during the presentation of the donated furniture and office equipment to Junior High Schools under the Education District II at the District’s Headquarters in Maryland, Lagos.
She stated that the items were donated to new schools located in the Ikorodu area in line with the THEMES Plus Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, and his commitment to improving the education sector.
“We are distributing office equipment and furniture such as photocopiers, desktop computers, air conditioners, fans, chairs, generators, television sets and office cabinets amongst others, to our new schools in Ikorodu, and offices of the Principals and Vice-Principals”, the TGPS said.
The Permanent Secretary, however, appealed to all the beneficiaries, including the Communities, Principals, Vice-Principals, Teachers and Students, to make good use of the donated items so that more gestures could be extended to schools under Education District II by the State Government.
Some of the benefitting schools of the donated furniture and equipment are Ibelefun Junior Grammar School, Musade-Odugate Junior School, Ori-Okuta and Egbin Kingdom Junior High School, among others.
