Igbogbo Students Empowered With Small Chops Skills

As part of the efforts by the Igbogbo Students’ Union to improve the skills of its members, especially the young girls, a day within the CHEF week, was dedicated to a skill – up training.

At the training held at the Oba Johnson Fatola Pavilion of the Adeboruwa palace, Igbogbo, on Wednesday, were students from various schools in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The Skill – up program, themed, “Don’t give me fish, teach me how to catch fish”, was organized in partnership with the Adunni Save A Girl Foundation of Sen. Comfort Olafare.

Comrade Abdusalam Tijani, President, Igbogbo Students’ Union, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the program was a life – changing experience for the students.

“The Skill – up program by CHEF Week Committee, in partnership with ADUNNI SAVE A GIRL FOUNDATION, was a life – changing training that many students from different schools attended”, he said.

“The aim of the program was to empower our young girls within the community and improve their skill. Education is not complete without some skills.

“We are bringing this to our members and students of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA at large”.

“The theme was coined during a joke in the committee then. It speaks a lot about the importance of the program. We appreciate the sponsor of the programme, Sen. Olafare Comfort. We can’t give people all that they wanted, but we’ll surely provide their needs”, ISU President said.

Sen. Olafare Comfort, C E. O, Adunni Save A Girl Foundation, speaking, appreciated the union for the birthday surprise given to her, and urged all participants to make good use of the opportunity. According to her, “If you are to learn it outside, each person will not pay less than 100k”.

She taught participants the importance of hygiene and how to measure different recipes and ingredients.

In attendance at the training were Lion Alhaja Ashake Wahab, Prince Adesegun Fatola, Comr. Kuti Damilare, Comr. Abubakr Raohodot, Rt. Hon. Abdulateef Balogun, as well as members of the committee, parliaments and executives of the lgbogbo Students Union.
