The 75th Founders’ Day anniversary of the premier college in Ikorodu Division and one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria, Oriwu College, Ikorodu (now Oriwu Senior and Junior Model Colleges, Ikorodu), has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
The aniversary of the foremost college takes place every May 29, being the day the school was founded.
The 75th milestone celebration is themed: “Journey Through Time: 75 Years of Memories, Excellence”.
The Founders’ Day ceremony, which is part of the week – long activities lined up for the anniversary celebration, holds 10am, at the hall located within the College situated along the Ikorodu – Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu. The lecture for the anniversary is titled, “Unlocking The Potentials Within”.
The anniversary celebration is being organised by the National Executive Council, Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN) and the Oriwu College at 75 Anniversary Planning Committee.
Important dignitaries, including former students of the college who are now occupying positions of influence at the national and state levels, are expected to grace the ceremony.
Members of the alumni associations/Class sets are to attend the important occasion in the school’s uniform or white native attire on blue cap or ‘gele’ (headgear).
Current students of the school and staff are also expected at the Founders’ Day event, as well as be fully part of the entire anniversary celebration.
lt would be recalled that the OCOSAN National Executive Council and the Anniversary Planning Committee, about two weeks ago, postponed the week – long anniversary celebration which was initially scheduled to hold between May 25 and June 1, 2024, to September.
