The National Executive Committee of the Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN), during the week, announced the postponement of the milestone 75th anniversary celebration of the premier school in Ikorodu Division.
The anniversary, which was earlier scheduled to kick off on Saturday, May 25 and ends on Saturday, June 1, 2024, will now hold in September this year.
The postponement was announced in a statement by the National Secretary of OCOSAN, Mr Wasiu Tijani.
He stated that all other programmes have been rescheduled except the Founders’ Day Celebration slated for May 29.
“The 75th anniversary celebration has been postponed to September 2024”, he said.
“At the joint meeting of the OCOSAN National Excos and the 75th Anniversary Planning Committee earlier today (on Sunday), it was decided that the anniversary celebration should be postponed.
“Aside from the Founders’ Day Celebration, all programmes still stand as earlier scheduled, other dates have been changed.
“Celebration of Founders’ Day will still hold on MAY 29, 2024, with the Students and School Management at the College Hall, as earlier scheduled.
“Founders’ Day Celebration does not require us to come for the program in school uniform”.
While appreciating the planning committee for their efforts, the national excos also apologized for any convenience that the postponement may have caused.
“We appreciate the efforts and sagacity of members of the 75th Anniversary Planning Committee and indeed every ORICOLIAN who have been working with the National EXCO, on the project from the get go.
…well done, and please let the good work continue”, he said.
“Apology for any inconvenience this postponement may cause”.
