-Gets Tinubu’s support
The KÓLÙJÓ Team has called for an improvement in the means of transportation in and out of Ikorodu, especially with the operations of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) being operated by the Primero Transport Services Limited.
The group, which is advancing the Chairmanship aspiration of Comrade Japheth Abolade Odesanya for the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat, made the appeal on Monday when members paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director, Primero Transport Services Ltd, Mr Fola Tinubu.
Kayode Alabi, Esq, Head, Kólùjó Press Directorate, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the team consider Primero as partner in ensuring good transport system for residents of Ikorodu, thereby, used the visit to engaged Tinubu on the challenges being faced by commuters on a daily basis and seek for way out.
Japheth had before the visit to the Primero yard along the Ikorodu – Lagos Road, led his team to the ground breaking ceremony of the Ikorodu LG Legislative Chamber by the Council Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, with the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson and other notable dignitaries in attendance.
“And because any businessman will tell you that transportation is fundamental to success, according to John Hickenlooper, we paid a courtesy call on the office of the Managing Director, Primero Transport Services Ltd, Mr Fola Tinubu”, he said.
“The Kólùjó symbol, Comrade Japheth Odesanya, driven by passion for the wellbeing & development of his community, seized the opportunity to table the hiccups being experienced by commuters from Ikorodu in the BRT services, not forgetting to make an appeal for possible improvements in same regard. He also (formally) familiarised his host with his political ambition”, he added.
Reacting to the visit, Mr Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the visit, with a promise to soon return same to Ikorodu officially and otherwise, to see firsthand how the BRT services can be made more effective.
He also expressed his joy at seeing a personality of the symbol’s pedigree aspiring to serve his people at the grassroots.
