The maiden JAMB examinations conducted at the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) ICT and Innovation Center, have been described as a huge success.
A total of 3381 students sat for the examination between April 19 and April 24, 2024, at the centre which is also known as the Barr. SAB Oteju ICT and lnnovation Hub, Ikorodu Town Hall Ikorodu.
According to the statement jointly signed by the centre’s Coordinators – Dr Okedeyi Abiodun S. and Dr Abiodun Abatan, 3499 students were expected to write their examinations at the centre, but 118 students failed to come for the JAMB CBT examinations.
The centre, which was commissioned about a month ago, was initiated by the Musediq Alogba E -Library and Research Committee under the leadership of Prince Rotimi Ogunleye who was a former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Lagos State in 2023, and implemented and fully funded by the IDRDG under the Chairmanship of Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Minister of Works.
For the five days duration of the examinations, the centre recorded 250 capacities on daily basis except the first session of the first day when a student had issues with his biometrics.
Also, aside the first day which recorded two sessions, other days recorded three sessions each.
According to the report, the centre recorded 100% capacity, 97% candidates sat for examinations and 3% were absent.
“IDRDG CBT centre provided connected system to JAMB server based on JAMB specification. All connected systems worked effectively without any hitch or complaint from the JAMB officials”, the statement said.
During the examination, the centre did not experience any power failure.
