General Hospital Celebrates Award Winning Nurse, Administrator, Mrs Kuburat Arole’ s Retirement, 60th Birthday

It was a glorious and commendable exit from the service of the Lagos State Health Service Commission for Mrs Kuburat Omotayo Arole, an Assistant Director, Nursing Service, General Hospital (GH), Ikorodu, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, as she officially retired from service.

The retirement ceremony, which was held at the premises of the General Hospital, Ikorodu, also doubled as the 60th birthday celebration of the multiple award – winning nurse and administrator.

At the double celebrations were the husband of the retiree and a former Council Manager, Alhaji Muhammed M.B.S. Arole, her children, family members, Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, General Hospital Ikorodu, Dr. Taiwo Hassan, members of the hospital management team, senior officials and staff of the General hospital, as well as friends and well – wishers.

Mrs Enibukun Grace Bose, the Apex Nurse, GH, Ikorodu, in her welcome speech as the host, said that the retirement is a glorious and deserving one for Mrs Arole whom she described as dutiful, respectful and dedicated staff of the medical institution.

The reiree/celebrant, Mrs Arole and her husband, Alhaji Arole with the Medical Director/CEO, General Hospital Ikorodu, Dr Taiwo Hassan and other members of the hospital’s management team and senior staff.

“The retiree is very humble, respectful and relate well with everybody. She always refers to me as her boss, and I can’t remember if she has ever called me by my name for once. She is very committed to her duty and related well with others”, she said.

She said that her exit from the service of the government is a commendable one because she is retiring gracefully.

Dr Taiwo Hassan, MD/CEO, General Hospital, Ikorodu, who was the chief host, said that the retiree was an award – winning staff with whom he said that the turn – around of the medical facility into a world – class status, was achieved with several awards.

“We did this together and she was productive and on behalf of the management, l want to thank her and pray that she will live to collect her entitlement. When I won the Best Service Charter Director in 2014, she won the Best Service Improvement Officer same year and the hospital went on winning several awards thereafter”, Dr Hassan said.
He said that Mrs Arole was part of the team of the General Hospital, Ikorodu, which the Commissioner wrote a letter of commendation to, adding that a copy of the letter was presented to her.

Dr Hassan wished the retiree well in her retirement years and prayed that she would live to receive her benefits for many more years.

Also speaking, Chief Imam of GH Ikorodu, also congratulated the retiree for the successful service to the state and celebration of her 60th birthday, also wished her well.

Shaykh Muslihudeen Kalejaiye, Founder/Chief Missioner of Aenur Rahmah International, delivered the special celebration sermon, while His Eminence Fadhilat Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala, Chief Imam, Oriwu Central Mosque, offered special prayer for Mrs Arole.

Alhaji Muhammed Arole, the celebrant’s husband and National President, Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN), in a statement celebrating his wife’s retirement and 60th birthday anniversary titled, ‘Celebrating Tayo: A Lifetime Of Love and Dedication’, described the occasion as the celebration of extraordinary journey.

He said that his better half, throughout her career with the state government, was a shining example of commitment and dedication, adding that her love and support for him has solidified the pillar of their family.

Mrs. Arole Kuburat Omotayo Oritoke, nee Alao was born into the Odede of Egba land, Ogun State, Nigeria to Pa Alao Amidu Odede and Alhaja Zinat Anike Alao on 23rd April 1964 in ifo Local Government, Ogun State
