Members of the King Kosoko Royal Family of Lagos, on Sunday, April 21, 2024, came from far and near to, again, gathered at the ancient Ereko palace of the late monarch and Oloja, to celebrate his 152nd remembrance.
The event is an annual occasion used to mark the remembrance of King Kosoko, his legacies and followers.
Alhaja (Chief) Ashabi Alli – Balogun, the General Head of the King Kosoko Royal family, and Prince (Dr.) Abiola Kosoko, the Oloja of Lagos elect, led other chieftains and members of the family to the occasion tagged, ‘The Reminiscence IV’.
Joining in the celebration were the Olu of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, the Onitoomu of Itoomu land, Oba Taiwo Gbadamosi, Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, His Eminence Sheik Sulaimon Oluwatoyin Abou Noola, Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Mohammed Abubakar Bakindo II, Olu Epe, Otoomu-in-Councils and members of Ratibis of Lagos among others.
This year’s edition was historic as descendant of one of the greatest Chief Imams of Lagos in the late 1800, His Eminence Sheik Sulaimon Abou Noola, led the prayer session 163 years after.
The celebration presented the revered guests and chieftains of the royal family the opportunity to tour the King Kosoko Memorial Museum which was officially commissioned by the Minister for Tourism, Mrs Lola Ade-John, recently. They were led by the Chief Curator of the Museum, Prince Abiola Kosoko who gave a detailed analysis of the artifacts and photographs that are domiciled in the Kosoko Museum.
