The ‘Kolujo’ campaign team of the former Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government, Comrade Japheth Odesanya, has revealed that the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has given his blessings for his candidature.
The symbol of the Kolujo campaign team had visited the highly revered royal father at his palace on Friday, with his team.
In a statement today , signed by Tayo Odesanya, the team said that Oba Shotobi described Japheth as his son in whom he is well pleased.
”This is my son, in whom I’m well pleased”, the statement quoted Oba Shotobi to have said.
“(Originally) goes a biblical account of God on His throne affirming His messenger in Matthew 3:17. Also reminiscent of this was when Japheth’s father, Noah, blessed him in Gen 9:27.
“The aforesaid replicated itself traditionally yesterday in our indigenous town of Ikorodu, when the Kólùjó Team approached & sought the royal blessings of our highly revered monarch, HRM Oba (Engr.) Kabir Shotobi. Kabiyesi, in his enthusiastic disposition had (among other flowery remarks too sensitive for publication) borrowed the phrase as he heartily blessed the symbol, Comrade Japheth Odesanya”, Tayo said.
He explained that the royal acceptance boosted the team’s spirit towards the realisation of its primary goal which is emergence of Japheth Odesanya as the Chairman, Ikorodu LG, come 2025.
“The event was an electrifying experience, & the team’s spirit & confidence unprecedentedly skyrocketed! Consequent upon which in our culture of gratitude wish to express our profoundest appreciation to our fatherly crown & council of chiefs for this historic gesture. Our gratitude is sincere & boundless!”, he added.
“K’ÁDÉ PÉ L’ÓRI, KI BÀTÀ PÉ L’ÈSÈ.. KAABIYESI OOO._”
Tayo, who wrote in mixture of Yoruba and English languages, also said that the recognition by the royal father, is a recognition of Japheth Odesanya as a royal blood who is the choice of the people.
“The stool recognises his DNA. Ojú ló m’óhun tó yó’nu.
“The voice of the people remains unchanged. The support base keeps thickening.
“To Kólùjó is to be a Japheth. L’órò kán.. ILÙ TI S’ÒRÒ”, he emphasized.
