Community Initiative For Development Grants Igbogbo Students Educational Support

A total of 31 students who are members of the Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU) in various higher institutions, have received financial support from the Community Initiative Development Union (CIDU), an Igbogbo – based developmental platform.

The sum of N10, 000 was presented to each of the beneficiaries at a ceremony held at the Oba Johnson Fatola Pavilon, Adeboruwa palace, Igbogbo, last Wednesday.

CIDU, under the leadership of Barr. Adeboye Dankuwo, is a group committed to the development of Igbogbo socially, economically, politically and in other areas.

Speaking at the presentation, Barr. Adeboye said that the cash support was part of the CIDU’s plans to develop education in Igbogbo, adding that the gesture would serve as motivating factor for the beneficiaries, as well as a proof that they are not left alone by the community.

He said that the group desire is to completely restructure educational system in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, while promising further continuous support for the students through the students’ union body.

In their goodwill messages, Mr. Gbenga Oduniyi, Mr. Francis Shonubi, Mr. Shola Shonubi and Hon. Hameed Aroyewun, advised the students on how to survive during and after school.

Chieftains of the initiative also advised the union body to collate the data of all Igbogbo students in tertiary institutions across the nation, document problems affecting public schools in the comunity and solutions.

Comr. Abdulsalam Adebayo Tijani, President, Igbogbo Students’ Union, appreciated the CIDU for its kind gesture.
While stating that names of the recipients were collated since last year June, he appreciated Comade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), for his support towards achieving this great project.

In attendance at the event were members of the ISU Executive and Parliament – Comr. Kuti Fiyin, Rt. Hon. Abdullateef Balogun, Comr. Sodiq Balogun, Comr. Aminat Bolowotan, Comr. Yunus Malik, Comr. Giwa Hussein and Hon. Hassan Adesaogun.
