-Unveils agenda
Arch. Taiwo Kara has emerged the Chairman, Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) and Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board (ITHMB).
Kara emerged winner in a keenly contested election against Prof. Michael Ajetunmobi, to succeed Sir (Sen.) Adeseye Ogunlewe as the Chairman, at the 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IDRDG, held at the Gbadamosi Hall of the Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hal, Ikorodu, on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Member, Lagos State Health Board and former Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), General Hospital Ikorodu, Dr Mobolaji A. Olukoya, emerged victorious in another keenly contested election for the position of the Vice Chairman against Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle.
Sir (Otunba) Wole Odulate, KJW., returned unopposed as the General Secretary, while Dr Abiodun Okedeyi, Alhaji Mohammed Amusa, TPL Hakeem Animashaun were also returned as the Financial Secretary, Social Secretary and Auditor, respectively..
Newly elected executives are: Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Treasurer; Dr Abiodun Fatai – Abatan, Assistant General Secretary; Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Ex – Officio 1 and Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, Ex – Officio 2.
After the election, Prof. Ajetunmobi congratulated the new Chairman and wished his tenure well.
Before the AGM, Sen. Ogunlewe took chieftains and members of the Group on tour of the Oteju ICT & Innovation Hub, to conduct them round one of the major achievements of his over two years tenure.
In his acceptance speech, Arch. Kara thanked chieftains and members of the Group for their support and trust.
He unveiled Community empowerment programme; Community projects; Youth development and engagement, and pledged transparency and accountability during his administration.
Meanwhile, residents of Ikorodu have been congratulating the newly elected IDRDG Chairman and wishing his administration a successful tenure.
Mr Ibrahim Alani Onibudo (Budo Allen), a Chairmanship aspirant for Ikorodu LG, congratulating Arch. Kara whom he described as a brilliant architect, said that Ikorodu’s development is upper most in his mind.
“Congratulations sir! I worked under him as a young Architect in the years 2000s. He was always talking about the development of Ikorodu. He was such a brilliant Master Architect and he was very kind with us at work. We ate free food from his kitchen through that time”. Onibudo said.
Council Leader, Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Enitan Jessica Oba, also congratulating the APC chieftain, said:
“Big congratulations to our father, Arch Taiwo Kara. Greater heights in sound health for you always in Jesus name”.
In his own, Mr Taiwo Ademola Adeleke, said:
“Congratulations sir. Wishing you a successful tenure”.
