Wale Jagun
Prince Adebayo Ogunleye, JP, and Chief (Mrs) Olajumoke Abike Laleye, have both been officially installed as the Baba Ijo and Iya Ijo of The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, respectively.
The duo, who were installed at a special service held at the The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, Aga, Ikorodu, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, were Otun Baba Ijo and Otun Iya Ijo to late Barr. Samuel A.B. Oteju, the former Baba Ijo and late Chief (Mrs) Kehinde Keeji, respectively.
Following their official installation/investiture, Prince Oguneye and Chief (Mrs) Laleye have assumed the positions in substantive capacity.
Prince Ogunleye, who was born into a royal family in Ikorodu, retired as Deputy Manager, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He had earlier worked with ELF Nigeria Limited, an oil company where he left as an Assistant Petroleum Engineer after he returned to Nigeria from Germany where he studied at the Photo Kina Institute of Surveying and Mapping.
He was with Federal Survey Department in Race Course, Federal Ministry of Works and Surveys.
Chief (Mrs) Laleye, is a humanitarian, philanthropist and reputable senior member of the Lion International Club and First President, Leo District 404, an honour bestowed on her due to her leading role in the formation of the district.
She is an agripreneur who owns the Ajose Farms with branches in Lagos and Ogun States.
At the special investiture service, which was anchored by The Rt. Rev’d Hezekiah A. Adetoro, Bishop of Lagos West Diocese, were Sir (Chief) Engr. Olukayode Shoderu, a former President of the prestigious Oriwu Club and the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Lagos State, among others.
