The new Chairman, Southern Senators Forum, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, has been said to possess the required experience to make the Forum more vibrant and resourceful.
Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defense, said in a statement today, that he personally congratulated the Lagos East Senator on his unanimous election as the Chairman of the Southern Senators Forum on Tuesday.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my brother and Chairman of the Senate committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, on his election as the Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum”, Rep. Benson said.
“Senator Abiru’s unanimous election by the 51 Senators from the 17 southern states, is a testament to his proactive, pragmatic, and industrious personality. His dedication to ensuring success on national assignments is commendable”, he added.
The three term lawmaker commended Abiru for his contributions to legislative development in the country, while stating that he has confidence that his experience in the private sector would be brought to bear on his new assignment.
“As a true son of Ikorodu, Senator Abiru continues to raise the flag high, contributing significantly to the growth and development of Nigeria”, he said.
“I have no doubt that he will, once again, deploy his boardroom experience to achieving a more vibrant and resourceful Forum, in support of the renewed hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“May the Almighty grants you the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to steer the affairs of the Forum in the right direction”, he said.
