Those aspiring for political positions, especially at the Council level in the coming Local Government Elections, have been advised to learn and emulate the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson.
Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, gave the charge at the flag – off ceremony of the Igbogbo/Offin/Oreta Road in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu Division, on Monday.
Oba Kasali, describing the facilitation of the reconstruction of the road 38 years after it was first constructed, as a thing of joy, also charged those seeking elective positions to assess themselves to know if they have what it takes to represent the people.
“What we are seeing today is an important development. Some people would have called others liars if they had said that this road would be approved last year and constructed this year, but it happened in a divine way and if today people are rejoicing over the flag – off of the road construction, they deserved to”, Adeboruwa said.
“This road would bring socio and economic developments to Igbogbo.
“Another election, especially those that are aspiring for the council positions, is around the corner. I urged you to consider your aspiration very well. You must assess yourself very well to know if you are capable of the position”, Oba Kasali charged.
Adeboruwa of lgbogbo, while also stating that the representation of the federal lawmaker should serve as motivation to them to aspire to perform, added that they should also endeavor to study how he has been delivering quality representation.
“What we are seeing Hon. Benson doing today should be a motivation to you all. You must ask him how he has been going about his representation so that you can learn from him”, Oba Kasali again charged.
“What he is doing is beyond his constituency representation. It also entails so many other factors and you must move closer to him to learn.
“Many are here to confirm if it’s true that construction is beginning on the road or not, because of what they have gone through over the years. I want to thank you (Hon. Benson) on behalf of our people that we really appreciate your concern for their well – being”, the royal father said.
