-Assures residents of more developmental initiatives
The Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), has charged residents of Isiu on the need to live in peace and harmony, stating that community develops where inhabitants work together.
Chairman, ISEDASS, Mr Folagbdae Musa Banwo, who gave the charged in a statement, also enjoined residents to see their strength in diversity in the community as an opportunity to partner one another in order to achieve a desired Isiu.
ISEDASS is responsible for the organization of the annual Isiu Eweye Day celebration and other socio – economic and developmental activities in Isiu community in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
“I find it fitting to reflect upon the journey we have undertaken together and the path that lies ahead. Our community, Isiu, is not merely a collection of homes; it is a textile woven with the threads of diverse lives, shared dreams, and collective aspirations”, he said.
“It is within this vibrant embroidery that ISEDASS has been working tirelessly to foster development, inclusivity, and progress.
“However, as we proceed in 2024, I feel compelled to address a matter of paramount importance – the call for unity and peace within our beloved community. Isiu has always thrived when its residents stand together, embracing diversity and working collaboratively towards shared goals.
“Yet, we must acknowledge that unity is not an assumption but a conscious effort that requires each one of us to actively participate”, Banwo charged.
The ISEDASS Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful co – existence in Isiu, in the time past and the need to continue to embrace the ideals for further progress and development.
“Our unity is our greatest asset. It is the foundation upon which we build our community’s future. In times of celebration and challenge alike, the strength of Isiu lies in our ability to stand united. It is a call to recognize that our differences, far from being divisive, are the very threads that make our community resilient, dynamic, and rich in its cultural tapestry”, he said.
“Peace is not merely the absence of conflict, it is the presence of harmony, understanding, and respect. Isiu has long been a haven of peace, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve and nurture this invaluable aspect of our community. Let us embrace peaceful coexistence, fostering an environment where every resident feels a sense of belonging and security”, he added.
Speaking on the way forward, the Chairman charged residents of Isiu to get involve in activities geared toward the development of the community and embrace dialogue and respect for other people’s views and positions on issues.
“In the spirit of togetherness, ISEDASS calls upon each resident and indigene of Isiu, to actively contribute to the unity and peace of our community. Let us engage in open dialogue, practice empathy, and appreciate the perspectives of others. It is through understanding and collaboration that we can build a more harmonious Isiu”, Banwo appealed.
“As we embark on this year’s plan, let us renew our commitment to building a community that stands together in times of joy and in times of challenge. ISEDASS remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote unity, inclusivity, and peace. Together, let us make 2024 a year where our community flourishes, united in its diversity.
“May the spirit of unity and peace guide us throughout this year and beyond, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect within our beloved Isiu”.
