Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA), the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has stated that he has facilitated the rehabilitation of several roads across constituency in the last couple of months.
Ogunleye, who is the Chairman House Committee on Overseas Investments, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), said that improved road networks in communities across Lagos, has reduced travel time and engender ease of movement for vehicles and residents.
The lawmaker, who is the son of the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Sir (Prince) Abiodun Ogunleye, stated this in a statement today, while commending the Governor of the state, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, for the rehabilitation of roads not just in his constituency, but across the state.
The Ikorodu Constituency I representative listed some of the roads that he has facilitated their rehabilitations among which are: Oba Sekumade road, Oba Oyefusi street, TOS Benson road, Ayangburen road, Etunrenren street, Banjoko Olowu street, Alison street, Ajenifuja street, Olowosago street, Kasali Onilere street, Alh. Ogbara street and Adeyeri Owuyo street.
He assured constituents that many more roads are still going to be rehabilitated.
“As part of the promises made during my campaigns to move Ikorodu ahead, steer development and government’s attention to our needs. I wish to announce to the good people of Ikorodu Cnstituency 1, that as your representative in the Lagos State House of Assembly, I have facilitated, through His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State and his diligent staff in the Lagos State Public Works Department, the rehabilitation of some major link roads in our constituency”, Hon. Ogunleye said.
“The successful completion of some of these major link roads, has surely improved the ease of movement within our community.
“ I, also with great pride and admiration, express my heartfelt commendation to all the community members and leaders who participated in one way or another in making this venture a resounding success.
“Once again, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the unrelenting and reinvigorated effort of the state government aimed at improving road networks in communities across Lagos, reduce travel time and engender ease of movement for vehicles and residents. Your exceptional leadership, your vision, passion, and unwavering commitment have been the driving force behind our achievements.
“I would also like to acknowledge the tireless effort of our dedicated General Manager, Lagos State Public Works, Engr. Lateef Ayodele Somide, and other members of the Ministry. Your selflessness and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring. Your countless hours of hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and our community is grateful to you as well for your unwavering commitment to duty”.
While mentioning roads that have been rehabilitated, Hon. Ogunleye urged residents of Ikorodu, to protect the facilities while expecting more interventions in the areas of road rehabilitations and other projects.
“As of today, we can proudly look back at the incredible achievements we have accomplished so far. The completion of Oba Sekumade road, Oba Oyefusi street, TOS Benson road, Ayangburen road, Etunrenren street, Banjoko Olowu street, Alison street, Ajenifuja street, Olowosago street, Kasali Onilere street, Alh. Ogbara street, Adeyeri Owuyo street and other road rehabilitations that are still ongoing, is a strong statement of intent, that the government is ready and taking the much needed actions’, he said.
“On this note, I humbly appeal to our constituents to expect more from the State Government, while also protecting the rehabilitated roads and other infrastructural projects in our communities.
“This is the true spirit of community and the remarkable things we can achieve when we come together determined with a common purpose. Let us continue to harness the power of collaboration, unity, and determination to tackle future challenges and build an even stronger, more vibrant community. IKORODU is our home and we must all take responsibility and contribute our own quota to ensure the Greater Ikorodu of our dreams”, the lawmaker said.
