The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, HRM Oba (Engr) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, has been described as a royal enigma who has been a beacon of hope and over time, used his royal stool to bring about developments to Ikorodu Division.
The highly revered Kabiyesi celebrates his birth every February 5, and he clocked 70 years today.
In a statement in commemoration of the royal enigma’s birthday, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo, Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, and his wife, Mrs. Surat Feyisola Abiru, felicitated the royal father on the auspicious occasion.
“On behalf of my family and the entire people of Ikorodu and Lagos East Senatorial District, I extend warm felicitations to our revered royal father, HRM Oba (Engr) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure Of Ikorodu, the Paramount Ruler of the Ikorodu Division, and the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, on the special occasion of his 70th birthday”, Abiru and wife stated.
“Oba Shotobi’s leadership has been a beacon of inspiration, and we are immensely proud of the quality leadership he has continued to provide for all in Ikorodu Kingdom. The growth and development witnessed under his reign, transforming Ikorodu into Nigeria’s 12th largest city and the third largest city in the Southwest, stand as a testament to his visionary stewardship.
“Kabiyesi’s royal pedigree and the pride he brings to us in Ikorodu Division, make us hold our heads high wherever we go. His unwavering commitment to seeing the illustrious sons and daughters of Ikorodu Kingdom attain greatness and bring honour to our land resonates deeply”.
Senator Abiru acknowledged the impact of the royal father and expressed his profound happiness in partnering with the palace for the development of Ikorodu which is a council under the Lagos East Senatorial District which he is representing.
“I express profound gratitude for his fatherly support and counsel. Oba Shotobi’s guidance has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the privilege of working alongside him for the betterment of Ikorodu”, he said.
