It was excitement galore as residents of Ikorodu and Ijede watched the Super Eagles’ Round of 16 match at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, against the Indomitable of Cameroon, at free viewing centres on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated the Cameroonian team 2 – 0 in the encounter which thrilled fans, many of whom came to watch the match at the centres from far places.
While residents of lkorodu, are viewing the AFCON matches at the Ikorodu Town Hall, and the centre was set up since the inception of the tournament, by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSc), that of the Alajede palace in Ijede Local; Council Development Area (LCDA) was put in place by the council authority.
Residents expressed their satisfaction at the arrangement made by the Lagos State Sports Commission and the Ijede LCDA for providing avenues to watch matches free without fear of power outage.
