-Governor’s aide, eminent individuals pay tributes
The remains of the former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Prince Tajudeen Oladapo Odofin, were buried yesterday at his residence in Ipakodo – Ebute, Ikorodu, Lagos at around 7.00pm.
Odofin served in the late Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru administration from 1984 to 1986, which was a military regime.
He was a founding father and President of the Oriwu Club Ikorodu and former Chairman, Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG)/Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board (ITHMB).
The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Anwar – Ul – Islam Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu branch, Sheikh Olamilekan Olapade.
Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa, former Chairman, Lagos State Local Government Commission and former Head of Service, mourning the late Odofin said:
“Egbon continue to rest in Aljanar as I pray Almighty Allah to forgive your sins. To the Big Odofin family I extend my condolences over our dear PRINCE DEMISE from this sinful world”.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on DAWN and Southwest Integration, Hon. Olanrewaju Sunmi Odesanya, expressed shock on hearing the passage of the late former Commissioner for Finance.
“awwwwww, a Prince is gone, technocrat, socialite, community builder and a perfect gentleman….. Allah will definitely rest his soul….”, he said
Sir (Otunba) Jacob Odulate, General Secretary, IDRDG/ITHM, in his own tribute said:
“PRINCE TAJUDEEN ODOFIN IDRDG CHAIRMAN: 2006-2007: A leader, Prince Adedapo ODOFIN is gone to eternal resting place. We shall always remember his welcoming and pleasing smile. Adieu * REQUIESCANT IN PACE”
A retired teacher and former Member, ITHMB, Mrs F.A.T. Olanrewaju, also paying her tribute said:
“One of the trustworthy elders in the town has gone to rest in the Lord, may Allah grant him aljannah fridaous”
