The engagements of pupils of the Kith & Kin Montessori School (KKMS), continued immediately after the school resumed from the long break with a Spelling Bee Competition.
The programme, which was held at the KKMS Multipurpose Hall, Mosene Estate, opposite GRA, Ikorodu off TOS Benson Avenue, Ikorodu, on Tuesday, January 16, showcased the impressive linguistic prowess of students from Grades 4 to 6.
The competition, which pitched participants: More Oluwafemi and Shittu Shindara from Grade 4, Kamsi Uba and Shinaayomi Emmanuel from Grade 5, and Ogunjemiyo Adedotun and Adewale Daniella from Grade 6, against one another, proved to be a delightful display of spelling skills.
At the end of the keenly contested competition, the results reflected the outstanding efforts of the participants, with Grade 6 emerging as the top performers with a total of 18 points, showcasing their advanced spelling abilities. Grade 5 and Grade 4 both demonstrated commendable performances, securing 14 points each.
In a statement by the school management, it stated that the exercise showed the dedication of the participants to their learning, while congratulating them for their feats.
“The Spelling Bee program not only served as a platform for healthy competition, but also highlighted the dedication and hard work of the students”, it statement said.
“Congratulations to all participants for their impressive performances, and a special acknowledgment to Grade 6, for securing the highest score. The event not only fostered a spirit of friendly rivalry, but also encouraged a love for language and learning among the upper primary students at KKMS”, it added.
