The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, assented to the N2.2tn 2024 Appropriation Bill passed into law
The signing of the Appropriation Bill passed by the state House of Assembly last week was done at the Conference Hall of the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
At the ceremony, Sanwo-Olu, said the signing of the budget would spur his administration to complete all ongoing projects and execute new ones in the state.
He urged residents to fulfill their civic responsibility of paying their taxes for the implementation of the budget, while promising to promote transparency and accountability,
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended members of the Assembly for the scrutiny of the appropriation bill before its passage, noting that the executive and the legislature are partners in progress for the actualization of the THEMES Plus agenda, with a charge on appointees to brace up for more work.
The Speaker of the State Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa, who was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Mrs Mojisola Meranda, said the lawmakers had done the needful on the budget and expected a successful implementation for the good of all residents in the state.
The Budget of Renewal signed into law has a capital expenditure of over one point three trillion naira representing fifty – eight percent while the recurrent expenditure has over nine hundred and fifty two billion naira representing forty-two percent.
