The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) branch, has charged youths in Ikorodu not to ‘gree’ for cultism and drug abuse this year.
The group is using the trending ‘No gree for them in 2024′, to reach out to the youths and urge them to desist from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices capable of inflicting serious negative consequences on them and the society at large.
In a statement by the Coordinator, NYCN, Ikorodu West LCDA, he said that the group is staging a walk tagged, ‘Fitness Awareness Walk Against Cultism and Drug Abuse’, in continuation of its campaign against social vices, drugs and violence in the community.
According to the group, the walk would come up on Friday 19th January, 2024, and takes off at 7am prompt from Sekumade Palace, Ipakodo.
The walk is expected to be led by the Chairman of the Council, Otunba (Hon.) Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, FCA, FCTI.
“In our bid to further dissuade young people of Ikorodu West from social vices, especially CULTISM and DRUG ABUSE, our team will be embarking on a FITNESS AWARENESS WALK AGAINST CULTISM AND DRUG ABUSE”, the statement said.
“This walk will be led by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, FCA, FCTI, our Grand Patron.
“In 2024, we no dey gree for cultism and drug abuse in our communities”, the statement added.
According to organisers, the walk will feature fitness exercises, music, dance and drinks.
