-Inducts Abiru, Olokode, Jinadu, THE IMPACT Founder into Hall of Excellence
The management and staff of the Victory Joy Schools (VJS), located along the Kokoro – Abu Road in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, last December rolled out drums not just in celebration of the schools’ tenth year of existence, but also for its excellent educational impacts on the community.
At the grand finale event of the anniversary celebration, tagged, ‘Ankara Day/Dinner/Award of Excellence’, which was held at the Amicable Club 1980, Kasoleri, along the Itamaga – Itoikin Road, Ikorodu, on Friday, December 15, 2023, members of the school management, staff, dignitaries, parents and well-wishers, were in attendance and had a great time at the memorable occasion in celebrating the milestone with the school.
Some of eminent guests who came to honor VJS which at present accommodates primary and junior secondary classes, were Otunba Ganiu Adesegun Abiru, Executive Secretary, Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL), who chaired the occasion and Hon. Kareem Kabir, Vice Chairman, Ijede LCDA, among others.
As part of the activities lined – up for the 10th anniversary, VJS had organized Seminar/Thanksgiving, Community Service Day and Pupils Day, prior to the grand event where Merit and Award of Excellence were given to eminent individuals and organisations for their “unquantifiable contributions towards the development of our school for the past ten years and their various services to the society as a whole”.
Excellent awardees, who were also inducted into the schools’ Hall of Excellence, are: Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, Executive Secretary, IDPIL, Mr Olufemi Olokode, Hon. Jinadu Riliwan Ishola, a political and community leader, Prince Davidson Odunlami, Dr Adekunle Samuel Aderemi, Mrs Famade Clara Adenike, Mr Orwell Uhuegbu, Mr Ovadje Obukaroro and Mr Ani Emmanuel Iroegbulam.
Others are Adelabu Adejare Olukunle, Publisher/Reporter – in – Chief, THE IMPACT newspaper, Alhaji Arogundade and Pastor Samuel Atokilesho.
THE IMPACT newspaper received a Merit Award.
Mrs I.B. Nwobodo, FCSS, Proprietress, VJS, welcoming guests, parents and others to the celebration, said that the school was established on a solid foundation and that for the past 10 years remained steadfast to excellent educational principles.
The proprietress, who thanked staff and parents of the students of the school, was also full of appreciation for those who have been supporting the school since inception.
“Victory Joy School (VJS) was established on an excellent foundation and we have remained committed to the pursuit of excellence in all ramifications since the glorious beginning of VJS in September 2013”, she said.
“I thanked God for his faithfulness and mercy upon us for the past 10 years, especially for everything He has done to me personally and VJS as a whole. I appreciate all members of staff being the greatest part of VJS success story.
“I equally appreciate the efforts and support of all our parents/Guardians towards the growth and development of our school.
“Finally, I thank everyone who in one way or the other has contributed to the upliftment of VJS, especially for the success of our 10th anniversary celebration”, Mrs Nwobodo said.
The Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Ganiu Abiru, who is one of the honorees, commended and acknowledged the exemplary management of Victory Joy Schools, especially its proprietress, Mrs Nwobodo.
He echoed and recognized the school’s commitment to providing quality education and advised that such must be sustained.
Some of the parents, guests and ex – staff of the school that also spoke, also commended the impacts of the school, especially that of her proprietress, who was described as a remarkable woman with an unwavering dedication to quality education.
To many of them, it was not surprising that the school withstood the test of time and impacted the children and the community at large.
In recognition of some of the staff of the VJS, Long Service Awards were presented to some of them for their outstanding performance, dedication and extraordinary hard work towards the development of the school, for the past ten years.
Also, Certificates of Appreciation were given to some staff and parents in recognition of their outstanding dedication and commitment towards the development of the school.
Guests were treated to a lovely evening of diverse performances, with the students of VJS showcasing their cultural awareness.
