Residents of Ikorodu have, again, commended the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Mukhail Tokunbo Abiru, FCA, for the gesture extended to vulnerable people for the Christmas, stating that he is living up to his #DoingGood mantra.
Over 8500 bumper food packs, consisting of 10kg garri, 5kg rice and 5kg beans, were distributed across the district, as part of the Senator’s quarterly food support for the aged, widows, single mothers, special people, unemployed youths and other classes of vulnerable residents.
The food distribution exercise, which is the third edition since it was introduced in June this year, took place at the Senator’s constituency office in Ikorodu, on Wednesday.
Mrs Oluwasegun Motunrayo, a resident of Ward D, in Ikorodu Local Government and one of the beneficiaries, described the gesture as a big surprise to her, while she also commended the Senator for the gesture.
“This is a big surprise to me personally, because like many others, I was still thinking of how we will celebrate the festive season, and I am getting this”, she said.
“I am grateful and appreciative of this gesture and I pray that Senator Abiru will continue to progress in life, and fulfill his plans for the people”.
Another resident, who also received the bag of food items, Mrs Joke Sokeyo, Ward C, Ikorodu LG, in her own reaction, said that the gesture was in continuation of Abiru’s good representation.
“The Senator is doing good for the people and we are thankful to him. This is not his first time and won’t be the last. He has been doing it for the people since his emergence as our Senator”, she said.
“He is really doing very well and God will continue to help and support him”.

In her own comments, Mrs Funmilayo Aminu (Iya Adura), Ward F, Ikorodu LG, said that the Senator’s gesture will go a long way in supporting many families in this critical period.
“In fact, this is a big thing and a big package, because we must commend anyone that is feeding thousands of people like Senator Abiru”, she said.
“It is very difficult for ordinary people like me, because of the economic challenges and it is very thoughtful of him as a good and dependable leader to provide succor for us the masses. What is contained in the bag are not just mere items, rather, they are food items that we are happy and satisfied with. We are thankful to him. Any family that gets this will not only appreciate it, but also continue to pray for his elevation and success”, she said.

“I can only pray that he forges ahead with what he has been doing for us in Ikorodu and in Lagos East. We have had Senators in the past, but Abiru is unique. He has been doing good and I pray that he continues this way.
“We hope to see him in a higher office come the next dispensation”, he said.
Alhaji Jinadu also charged residents of Ikorodu, to continue to support the Senator and APC for more benefits.
