The Pepc foundation is, again, set to put smiles on the faces of another 20, 000 senior citizens, widows and single mothers in different parts of Lagos State, in continuation of the groups usual gesture of given support to vulnerable people.
Also, LAWMA Street Sweepers across the Ikorodu Division, will also be cared for by the organization which will be marking its five-year anniversary of supporting students, elderly, widows, special people and other vulnerables.
Like the previous editions, this year’s edition is also themed, “Love Beyond Xmas” targeting 20,000 families across the state.
The distribution of the food packs will be holding first in Igbogbo, where the entire LAWMA Street Sweepers across the Ikorodu Division, which the PEPC Founder, Barr. Luqman Akinsanya, said are offering a strategic and critical service to the society, will be hosted at the Igbogbo Stadium, on Monday, December 18, where they will be presented with their food packs.
It will be the turn of the Ibeju Lekki area of the state after the distribution to the Street Sweepers.
According to the organisers, interested residents who fall into the categories of targeted people in Ikorodu, Mainland and Lagos Island, will have the opportunity to benefit by nominating themselves or being nominated online.
The online placement will afford intending beneficiaries to fill their details and the nearest pick-up area of their choice for the food packs.
Pepc foundation, which is a Non – Governmental Organisation and a registered humanitarian body, started operation five years ago and has since then been distributing ‘Back to School’ items comprising of bags, Mathematical sets, writing materials, socks and other educational items.
The body has also been providing cooked food and fruits for thousands of muslims during Ramadan periods by distributing food and other items during evening time at designated locations across the state, for about two weeks.
In the last two years, the foundation has also been giving out about 25 rams to muslims who, formerly, were slaughtering rams during the muslim festival (lleya festival), but have been affected by the harsh economic condition in the country.
It also hosts Xmas party annually for hundreds of children and those from the orphanage homes, during which they would be entertained and presented with gift items.
Thousands of households in Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju – Lekki, were also reached out to, during the COVID – 19 pandemic.
In addition, Barr. Akinsanya has also provided scholarship, business and medical support for many people in Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju – Lekki, in the last five years.
