As part of his efforts to create more awareness for mental health awareness and galvanise support for the cause, the convener of the Easygold Initiative for Mental Health Awareness, Comrade Hassan Temidayo, has undertook a significant visit to the National Assembly to engage with Honourable Jimi Benson, a distinguished member of the National Assembly representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The mental health campaigner paid the courtesy visit to the three term lawmaker on Wednesday, during which he discussed, and advocate for mental health awareness and also solicited his support for the initiative.
Comrade Hassan also sued the occasion to thanked Hon. Benson for bringing development to the various aspects of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The Convener emphasized the critical role that policymakers can play in addressing mental health challenges within the country.
According to Comrade Hassan, “The visit was a productive and positive step towards fostering collaboration in addressing mental health challenges in the country”.
Hon. Benson expressed his appreciation for the initiative and demonstrated a keen interest in supporting mental health initiatives.
During the visit, the Convener of the Easygold Initiative for Mental Health Awareness also had the opportunity of meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Honourable Benjamin Kalu, courtesy Hon. Benson.
Easygold Initiative which was launched October 2023, is aimed at promoting mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and provide resources and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues. The launching event was a significant milestone in advancing the cause of mental health and garnered widespread attention and support.
