The Imota Ayayo Development Association (IADA), has presented the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, with an Excellence Award.
The award was bestowed on him for his contributions to good governance and development of Lagos State in general, Ikorodu Division in particular, especially the Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
He was presented with the award at the State House, Alausa, on Tuesday, by a team comprising of eminent Imota sons and chieftains of the IADA – Dr Sakiru Biodun Okedeyi, Vice Chairman, IADA and Chairman, Imota Ayayo Day Planning Committee, Dr Metilelu Olumide Olusola, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Science & Technology (LASUSTECH) and Treasurer, IADA, and Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, former member, Lagos State House Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency ll.
The award was the highest honor by the Imota community and was announced during the grand finale of the 37th Imota Ayayo Day celebration held in November, during which Mr Ayinde was unavoidably absent.
The Imota Ayayo Development Association (IADA) is saddled with the responsibility of promoting the cultural heritage of lmota and also promote the resource developments of the community.
In his response after receiving the award, Mr Ayinde commended the initiative, stating that it is worthy of emulation.
He noted that the efforts that IADA is making towards the project is laying the foundation for the future of the young generation and charged the association not to derail from its mandate.
The Chief of Staff also urged that the community should guide the project to achieve the intended goals and objectives.
Hon Nurudeen Solaja, speaking earlier during the visit, commended the Chief of Staff for his numerous support in socio- political development of Imota, adding that on behalf of the Kabiyesi and the good people of people of Imota, he has been found worthy of this prestigious award.
Dr. Okedeyi, who spoke on behalf of IADA, enumerated the vision of the association, particularly on the 250 Million Naira Education Endowment Fund to facilitate the Imota ICT & Innovation Hub.
On his own, Dr. Metilelu further explained on the construction of the project which he said has commenced.
He added that notable individuals and corporate bodies have been lending their support towards the actualization of the project conceived to empowered Imota youths and advanced the community in term of ICT and innovations
Profile Of Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde
The Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu hails from Ikorodu in Lagos State and was born on the 24th of August, 1964 at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
A certified accountant, security expert / consultant, entrepreneur and politician. “Tayo’ as oft fondly called by Nigeria National Leader, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, since his working days with him as the then foremost achieving governor of Lagos State, as his Chief Security Detail from 1999-2007. As the Chief Security Detail to Governor Tinubu, he worked with other executives and security consultants operating in Lagos State to decide on the priority of security needs of the state and to coordinate intelligence gathering for the State House and the Governor.
Gallant officer and a gentleman, Tayo Ayinde joined the State Security Service (SSS) in 1993 and retired meritoriously in 2009 with a broad experience in security and safety management such as investigations, operational duties and guard force. At the SSS Department, he was known to be devoted and highly responsible with excellent educational attainment, integrity and excellence.
Prior to joining the DSS, Tayo Ayinde practiced as an accountant with the famous frontline News outlet, The TELL Magazine. He can also be called a seasoned technocrat owing to his remarkable professional track records and influence, especially with TELL Magazine and Lagos State Government. Ayinde is a founding member of All Progressives Congress (APC). The politician had remained a notable figure in the political party in Lagos State. In 2014, he expressed his interest in running for the office of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, but lost at the primaries.
In a rare display of maturity and sportsmanship, Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, congratulated Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the winner of the exercise, and pledged his support and loyalty to the party and the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has remained committed to his party and worked tirelessly to help Akinwunmi Ambode win at the gubernatorial elections of 2015.
Lagos born Tayo Ayinde is a committed supporter of universal human values and an advocate of support for the less privileged. He has strong passion for security and development and believes in empowerment and in the opportunity of prosperity for all. He is involved in many charities and initiatives to help the poor and the sick. He is also dedicated to helping young people for whom he strives to be a model. His main aim in life can be summarised as working hard to be considered by others as a life of giving and a God sent to many, especially the less privileged.
He is a prominent donor to SOS Health response in Lagos state. Owing to his philanthropic gestures and love for provision of education for all Lagosians, he was also conferred with the title of Patron, School and community Library project, Lagos State. He is also a member of Education Support Group, Lagos. In and outside of his constituency, Tayo Ayinde has empowered widows and young men and women. A practice which has earned him several notable recognitions. He is currently the Patron of Aid for Widows and remains a national facilitator at various youth programs.
Tayo is an information and knowledge acquisition enthusiast. An Alumni of University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management, where he did a course in Strategic Thinking Approach. He was also in University of Cambridge, Judge Business School for another course in Business Model Innovation. Tayo Ayinde studied Strategic Financial Analysis for Business Evaluation from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. At the University of London, he obtained an Executive Education Certificate in International Development. He studied Accountancy at the Federal Polytechnic, Anambra State, and obtained his Masters’ degree (MBA) in Financial Management from Lagos State University.
He attended St Peters’ Anglican Primary School, Alausa, Ikeja, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and his West African School Certificate from Ogudu Grammar School, Ojota, Lagos. Ayinde is a fighter, resourceful and never say die humanitarian and tireless giver. He is a dynamic, visionary and strategic leader who has a deep understanding of National development, internal democracy and cohesion. He is married and blessed with children
