Alhaji Shajkiru Adeleye, a staff of the Lagos State Television covering the Lagos State House of Assembly, has successfully defended his championship of the annual Table Tennis Championship of the Speaker’s Game organized in commemoration of the birthday anniversary of the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa.
He emerged winner at the Historic Edition of the game last Friday.
Speaker Obasa clocked 51 years on Saturday November 11, 2023.
Adeleye, who is the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association (LAHACA), recently won the 3rd edition of the Head of Service (HOS) Table Tennis Games.
The journalist, who hails from Adeleye Lemoruwa Family in Ikorodu, Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, is a professional table tennis player who has participated in many competitions and has trained many young champions who are representing Ikorodu at state, national and international.
Speaking on the game, Adeleye expressed happiness for winning the championship for the second time and congratulated the Speaker on his birthday anniversary.
“I am happy with the competition. I won it last year and I have won many other table tennis games”, he said.
“My prayer is that the Almighty Allah will grant Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa many glorious years and I look forward to another competition next year,” Adeleye prayed.
