Queen Katherine Nana Samuel Oluwanifemi has emerged as the Miss Ikorodu –Oga for the 2023/2024 session.
At the colourful and well – attended show held at the Arch. Olutusen Onafowokan Hall of the Ikorodu Town Hall, Olubi/Owolowo, Ikorodu, on Monday, November 13, 2023, Queen Kathrine, who represented Egbe Tobalase Obinrin, emerged the winner after a stiff competition with seven other contestants, and won the prize money of N100, 000. She is 23 years.
Miss Abioye Adedayo Elizabeth, 21 years, the constestant that represented Egbe Gbogeniyi and Miss Olanrewaju zainab Adetutu, 17yrs, representative of Likeminds Club, both of whom emerged first and second runners – up, received N50, 000 and N30, 000 respectively.
The new Miss Ikorodu, had, in 2021, won the Miss Ikorodu West LCDA contest organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikorodu West LCDA chapter.
Also at the contest, Miss Amoo Abosede Odunayo, representing the I – HEROES won the Miss Top Model award, while, Miss Wright Tolulope, 22years representing the Blissful Family emerged as the Miss Congeniality and Miss Elesho Oluwatosin Blessing, representing kikiewa emerged as the Queen of Social Media.
In a statement by the Coordinator, NYCN Ikorodu West LCDA, Comrade Asoro Abubakri, he said that the new Miss Ikorodu is a product of the group’s effort in nurturing talented and resourceful.
“In 2021, when we started this initiative, our aim was to create new stars who are beautiful and brainy, today, we came, we saw, we conquered”, he said.
“I am glad that the seeds we planted are beginning to yield good fruits.
“I can assure you that over 3 years, we have invested a lot and are grooming young leaders passionate about their country. I have no doubt that we have made our impact and they are now speaking for themselves. Congratulations, Queen Katherine”.
