The executives and other stakeholders for the Idumota Walk for Unity and Peace Group, on Saturday, visited the King Kosoko palace at Ereko, Lagos, to seek the support of the Oloja of Lagos – elect, Prince Abiola Olojo – Kosoko, for the forthcoming “Walk For Unity” initiative, aimed at promoting peace and unity in the area.
The group, led by Alhaji Ahmed Ayinde and Capt. Issa Aregbesola, is planning to bringing lasting peace and unity among the youths in Idumota, Olowogbowo, Ereko, Oluwole , idushagbe, Balogun, Agarawu, Elegbata and other communities that made up the commercial axis of Lagos island.
Prince Kosoko, who warmly welcomed the group to his palace, thanked the group for the initiative which he said would also promote cooperation and development within Lagos Island.
He pledged his support and that of the entire King Kosoko Royal Family to the peace move.
The traditional chief charged that there is need for youths, residents and others doing business in the area, to live in an atmosphere of peace and unity which he said is the only way for economic development and prosperity.
The Oloja – elect also charged other stakeholders to support the group in achieving its laudable initiative.
Among other chieftains of the group that were part of the visit team were Shonibare Abdulkareem, Oke Mutairu, Ajetunmobi Muinat, Williams Muinat, Owoyele Azeezat, Dawodu Monsuru, Ibitoye Muritala, Ibrahim Majekodunmi, Yusuf Baresi, Mr Tunde Sholanke, Tajudeen Adeola, Kazeem and Olamilekan Sheriff.
