The appointment of Dr. Abiodun Fatai – Abatan, a senior lecturer in the Political Department, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos, as the acting Dean, Students’ Affairs, has been welcomed by residents of the Ikorodu Division.
Dr. Fatai – Abatan was appointed in that capacity with immediate effects, on Tuesday.
Abatan, who is a senior lecturer in the university, is the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI). He is also a member of the Ikorodu Divisuon Resource Development Group (IDRDG).
Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), a former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, reacting to the news, prayed for knowledge for him to handle his new assignment.
“Congratulations my dear brother, may the Almighty grants you the wisdom and knowledge to succeed in your new assignment.God bless you Dr”, Aroyewun said.
A political leader in Ikorodu North LCDA, Elder Olu Omoniyi, described the appointment as a deserved one.
“I join others to rejoice with you on this well deserved elevation my dear brother, congratulations”, he said.
Adelabu Seyi, President, Knight Club of Ikorodu, expressed the assurance that the new Dean has the capacity to excel in his new capacity.
“I have the pleasure to congratulate my dear Egbon, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, on his well-deserved appointment as the Acting Dean of Student Affairs of LASU”, he said.
“Truly, you have the wherewithal to excel in this new role, and under your leadership, the department will strive towards greater heights and achievements.
“I pray that you thrive on the challenges & joy it brings your way.

In a statement signed by the Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), lkorodu West LCDA, Comrade Abubakri Asoro, also celebrated Dr Abatan whom he described as an inspiration to the youths.
“It’s another one for us in Ikorodu West, as we celebrate our Egbon, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, on his appointment as Acting Dean of Students’ Affairs, LASU”, he said.
“Dr Abatan has remained an inspiration to many young people in and around Ikorodu West (his immediate community), and has used his office to uplift and support many young people. This appointment is a round peg in a round hole.
