The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Alaiyeluwa) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has described the Christ Compassion to the Rural Areas (CCRW) Crusade beginning in Igbogbo on Monday, as something great that residents of Igbogbo and Ikorodu Division at large, must experience.
Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, in the next seven days, will be leading Dr. Mensa Otabil, Pastor Poju Oyemade, Pastor Jerry Eze, Dr Festus Adeyeye and Rev. Steve Mensah among others, at the crusade that thousands of people in Lagos and across the country, are expected to attend.
According to Pastor Ashimolowo in one of the adverts promoting the crusade, 50, 000 bags of rice, 50, 000 bags of beans, 50, 000 bags of garri, 10, 000 bottles of oil and 10, 000 buckets, clothings (for everyone) and 2000 Bibles will be distributed to attendees.
He also said that 70, 000 dollars worth of medicine will also be offered to the people, while 100 doctors and 100 pharmacists will render medical services to the people.
It is in this regard that the revered monarch urged the residents of Igbogbo and Ikorodu Ikorodu division as a whole, to partake in the crusade.
“I am expecting that residents of Igbogbo in particular, and Ikorodu Division in general, will key into the crusade. It is a good omen and it is a great thing that we are going to be experiencing such a golden opportunity”, Oba Kasali said.
“We are going to see a crusade where spirituality will be combined with social responsibilities for the benefits of the populace.
“I want to use this opportunity to charge our people to turnout in large number to explore the opportunities and at the same time, use the opportunity to pray for Nigeria, Lagos State and everyone one of us, so that we will continue to experience the benefits of good governance and a livable society”, the royal father said.
Adeboruwa also thanked Pastor Ashimolowo for creating opportunities for the people, and the Lagos State Government for the ongoing construction of the Ipakodo –Igbogbo – Bola Tinubu –Igbe road and the Igbogbo Stadium.
“I also use this opportunity to thank the organizer of the event, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo and his entire team, for this opportunity and at the same time, using this avenue to welcome every other Pastors and dignitaries that will be gracing the crusade”, Oba Kasali said.
“I also want thank the Lagos State Government for making its facilities available for the crusade, and for continuing the construction of the Ipakodo – Igbogbo –Bola Tinubu and the Igbogbo Stadium. The road construction will make it easy for people coming from other parts of the state and the country, to witness the crusade”.
