The immediate past Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly and the lawmaker that represented the Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. (Chief) Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle Agunbiade, and former representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, have been admitted into the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG).
The two illustrious sons of Ikorodu and Imota respectively, were inducted on Sunday, November 6, 2023, alongside Mr Abolaji Oluwaseun Elesho and Prince Adekunle Eniola Bada, both from Ikorodu.
Their induction took place during the monthly meeting of the group, which was held at the Gbadamosi Conference Room of the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu. They were also presented with letters of their admission by the Chairman of the IDRDG, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe who charged them to join hands with the body established to develop human and other resources of Ikorodu Division.
IDRDG, under Sen. Ogunlewe, has pursued membership drive to bring in new resourceful persons into the group, as the newly admitted four members are addition to others that have been successfully inducted into the group under the current Chairman.
Other chieftains and members of the Group welcome to he new inductees.
The former Majority Leader, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, in a chat with THE IMPACT, pledged to contribute his quota to the development of the Ikorodu Division resources.
“I was adjudged to be fit for induction and on Sunday, they called me into the group to join properly and contribute my quota to the resource development of Ikorodu”, the four term lawmaker said.
“I have declared to serve in that capacity as a member of the Resource Group, and see what we can do together for Ikorodu people. That is my personal commitment to the Resource Group.
“Within the group is good communication among good people, and I feel honoured to be counted as one of those invited to join”, Hon. Agunbiade added.
Mr Abolaji Elesho, the founder of R.E.A.L. Initiatives and former Secretary, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), also speaking with THE IMPACT after his induction, described his induction as wonderful.
He also pledged to contribute his quota to the development of the group.
“It is a wonderful thing for me to be admitted into this prestigious group, the capacity and caliber of eminent Ikorodu people that populate this group is a testament to the fact that my humble contributions to the development of Ikorodu are noticed and worth identifying with”, Elesho said.
“It is my pledge to do more, especially in the area of human resource identification and encourage them to continue to contribute to the development of Ikorodu. This, for me, is a call to responsibility and I promise Ikorodu Division that I shall do my best”.
He thanked the IDRDG Chairman and other members for his acceptance.
“I must thank the chairman of the group, Distinguished Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, for the confidence reposed in me as your personality, alongside the screening community, ensured that I scaled through the rigorous admission procedure. I will not also forget to thank Dr Fatai Abatan, PhD, and Dr Saheed Ibikunle, Phd, for their roles to the last moment. Thank you”, he said.
