-About 400 surgeries will be performed at General Hospital, Ikorodu
The host Council Chairman for the Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW) crusade commencing today, Builder Sesan Daini, has described the 6-day event as a welcome development that will improve the social and economic conditions of the Igbogbo community.
In the same vein, the President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, who also spoke with THE IMPACT, welcomed the crusade, and described it as a great intervention.
The crusade, which is being organized by the Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo’s Christ Compassion to the Rural Areas (CCRW), will run from Monday, November 6 to Saturday, November 11, and is scheduled for the Igbogbo Stadium in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
The crusade will also witness massive food distribution and medical outreach for the attendees, while surgeries for screened patients will be carried out at the General Hospital Ikorodu, during the events.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Builder Daini charged youths and residents of Igbogbo, to display good hospitality to visitors during the event and ensure that lives and properties are secured.
“The revival is a good one and a welcome development, and the residents of Igbogbo community and Ikorodu Division as a whole should embrace it. It is an opportunity to get closer to God, and celebrate a good year. So, it is a good one”, Builder Daini said.
“The community is expected to be accommodating, and the youths must ensure that there is no crisis and that everything goes smoothly. This will encourage bigger projects in Igbogbo, and let the world know that Igbogbo is a safer community”, he charged.
Furthermore, the host Council Chairman thanked Governor of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, for the resumption of construction works on the Igbogbo stadium and the abandoned Ipakodo – Igbogbo – Bola Tinubu – Igbe road, and for making the venue (Igbogbo Stadium) available for the crusade.
“We appreciate the Governor for his intervention on the stadium and the road, and the efforts in making the crusade a success. I was at the stadium twice on Sunday, to ensure that things are in order”.
“We appreciate Pastor Ashimolowo for considering Igbogbo as the venue of the crusade. It is something that naturally affects and improve the socio – economic situations”, Builder Daini said.
Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, President IYC, also welcoming the crusade, said that it is coming at the right time.
“This is not just about evangelism, but also a timely and massive intervention for our people in terms of food and medical support that the Church will also provide throughout the duration of the crusade”, he said.
“I thank Pastor Ashimolowo and his team for considering Igbogbo for this mega crusade. I also want to enjoin our people to be fully part of it and benefit from it spiritually, socially and economically”, Ogunmuyiwa charged.
Meanwhile, Dr Taiwo Hassan, Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), General Hospital, Ikorodu, has revealed that the hospital will be treating about 400 surgeries during the period, courtesy of the CCRW.
He spoke with our reporter on Sunday.
“While the crusade is slated for the Igbogbo Stadium, the surgeries for about 400 people will be holding at the General Hospital, Ikorodu. We are to provide them the logistics and facilities needed to perform the surgeries and supervise”, he said.
