As countdown begun in lgbogbo for the massive crusade tagged, ‘Christ Compassion Crusade’, the setting up of stages and sound equipment commenced yesterday, at the Igbogbo Stadium in Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, the venue of the event slated to hold between November 6 and 11, 2023.
About eight heavy duty trailers had, on Monday, brought the equipment which were offloaded and the commencement of setting up of the stage took off immediately.
Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo is expected to lead other men of God like Dr. Mensa Otabil, Pastor Poju Oyemade, Pastor Jerry Eze, Dr Festus Adeyeye and Rev. Steve Mensah, in the massive crusade.
When our reporter that has been following up on the construction of the stadium and resumption of work on the Igbogbo – Bola Tinubu – Igbe Laara – Gintin Road by HiTech Construction, visited the stadium on Tuesday evening, the engineers were seen setting up the stage.
On ground were big boxes of sound and other equipment. Two big generators to power the stadium during the six – day crusade, have also been brought to the event place.
Police officers from Alausa and Local Joint Task Force operatives of the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) led by its Commandant, Agali, were seen on ground.
Meanwhile, the contractor handling the Igbogbo – Bola Tinubu – Igbe Laara – Gintin Road, has also intensified the construction of the road, though, the company is not digging drainage system, the focus has been on the laying of the surface.
The laying of interlock stones commenced yesterday from the stadium area where the project was abandoned last year.
THE IMPACT gathered that the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, who has been monitoring the construction of the stadium, also visited yesterday to uì⁸9ascertain the level of the construction and preparations for the crusade that also include massive medical service and distribution of food items and other materials by the organisers.
