-Organises special prayer session
The chieftains and members of the Onward Movement of Nigeria, the working team of the former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Chief (Hon.) Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle (SOB) Agunbiade, has, in commemoration of his birthday anniversary, donated to the orphanage home.
Hon. Agunbiade, who represented the Ikorodu Constituency I, at the Lagos State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2023, clocked 59 years on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
In celebrating his birthday, Mr Samson O. Shoneye, the Coordinator General of the Onward Movement of Nigeria, led other chieftains and members to donate bags of rice, cartoons of indomie, cartoons of milo, cartoons of detergent, cartoons of soft drinks and water, cartoons of biscuit, bags of garri, waste bins among other items, to the Hikanos Orphanage Home in Ikorodu.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Shoneye said that the gesture was to continue the humanitarian and supportive efforts of the former lawmaker.
“We are not only gathering today in celebration of our leader’s birthday, but also organizing special prayer sessions for him. That is our way of praying for long life and more impactful and meaningful future for him. That is our prayers and purpose for the prayer sessions for the former Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly who represented the Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, who represented his people in every great sense of duty, dedication and purpose”, Mr Shoneye said.
“Also, in celebrating the life of the Opomulero of Ikorodu Kingdom who is filled with kindness and care for others, we, as members of his working team, also decided to donate food items, drinks, toiletries, detergents among other items to an orphanage home, as part of our efforts in continuing with his humanitarian and caring nature.
“We are using his birthday to reach out to children who are in need, show them love and care. We will intend to continue with this gesture as an organization”, he added.
Chief Missioner, Iradat Muslim Society, who led the Muslim prayer session, described the initiative of the Onward Movement of Nigeria, in organising prayer sessions as that of followers that are pleased with their leader who has impacted on them.
While commending the organisers of the prayer session as good followers, the Imam also charged them to continue to believe in the celebrant whom he said has made his marks with his representation and community engagements.
The Islamic cleric led the organisers and well – wishers on special prayer for the celebrant and his movement.
During the Christian prayer session, the presiding cleric, Pastor David Lawan also led members of the Onward Movement on a special prayer for the former Majority Leader.
Some of the chieftains of the Hon. Agunbiade’s working team at the session are Alhaji Taiwo Longe, former Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikorodu LGA, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, chieftain of the APC and customary court Judge. Elder Olu Omoniyi, chieftain of the APC, Chief Rasheed Okoko, a APC Ward Chairman and Mrs Omolara Abayomi, Deputy Coordinator, Onward Movement of Nigeria.
