The representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, and a former Commissioner for Information, Lagos State, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, have congratulated Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, a chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), on his 85th birthday.
Asiwaju Basorun, who is a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, celebrated his birthday on Sunday (yesterday) with a special thanksgiving at the Gospel Church of Cherubim and Seraphim, Oke Ayo Irapada, Orile Iganmu, Lagos.
Benson, in a statement he personally signed, described the celebrant as an elder statesman who has passion for the development of the younger generation.
“I sincerely congratulate member, Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and my father, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, on the occasion of his 85th birthday”, he said.
“You are an esteemed elderstatesman who has consistently dedicated his time, knowledge and resources to the advancement and growth of the younger generation in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
Rep. Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, also commended the GAC Chieftain for his contributions to the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Your unwavering support, invaluable contributions and unalloyed commitment to our party, the All Progressives Congress, in Ikorodu Division and Lagos State, are commendable”, he said
“May you celebrate more years in good health and with a sound mind.
“Happy birthday, Baba Basorun”, he said in his congratulatory message to Asiwaju Basorun.
Also congratulating the celebrant, Sir (Otunba) Ayodele Elesho, KJW, the Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom and the former Commissioner for Information, wished the celebrant, whom he described as a spiritual father and political mentor, many more years in good health.
